MY 5 – ELECTION AGENDA POINTS !

1. PROPERTY TAX – I will try my best to reduce the Property Tax.
FORMULA: Luxury Budget – Luxury = Actual Budget,

I am in favour of the Property Tax for the development, peace and prosperity of our beloved city, Mississauga, but I am against the luxury budget. I will try to take the LUXURY out of the budget and decrease the Property Taxes. I means that I will try to control unnecessary spending and expenditures by City of Mississauga.

MOVE A MOTION: I will move a motion in the City Council to control the unnecessary spending and expenditure.

2. BLOCKAGE OF DRIVEWAY – Pile of Snow (Windrow) that comes in front of each driveway when the City plows the roads.

PRECEDENT: The City of Vaughan and City of Scarborough already made the law to clear that pile of snow. City of Mississauga will also make a law to clear the pile of snow for the benefit of its residents.

MOVE A MOTION: I will move a motion in the City Council to make a LAW to clear the Pile of Snow (Windrow) for the benefit of its residents.

Two snow plow wings will be used on the same machinery (same operator) which is already in use to clear the snow from the road.

3. SENIOR CITIZENS – (Will be served – Free of Cost)
Senior Citizens can stay in their houses as long as they can, without any worry about cutting the grass from their lawns as well as clearing of snow from their driveways.
IDEA: We know that Students going from High School to University, need 40x Volunteer Hours Community Service to graduate.
First I would like to include the Senior Citizen in Community Service List.
Second I would recommend that City of Mississauga should issue the Certificate for 40xVolunteer Hours Community Service to the students.

I would like to talk to the Students, Parents and the Teachers to convince as well as hold Town Hall Meetings to deliver motivation talks for the success of this Program.

MOVE A MOTION: I will move a motion in the City Council for the Benefit of the Senior Citizen.

4. FIGHT AGAINST THE STREET CRIMES – Crime is increasing day by day. At such point “CIVILIZED SOCIETIES” come out and help the Police.

IDEA – I will make an App which will be known as “ONE CLICK AWAY”. ID of each person will be kept anonymous, but all the Civilized Society will be on my App. Criminal will never know that who reported regarding the Crime.

Let’s take an Example: You are at the TIM HORTON and see a CRIME.

Click the APP, your ID will remain anonymous but you informed the Quick Response Team regarding the Location as well as Time of the CRIME. Now my App will ask you what type of the CRIME and also the list of crimes will appear. Click on the Type of Crime. Quick Response Team will have Location, Time and Type of Crime, and respond Quickly.

If the case materializes, FIRST, you will get the appreciation letter from the Councillor with in a month.

SECOND, I will recommend that City of Mississauga should hold a Ceremony at the City Hall at the end of the year and issue CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION to each individual who helped the Police as well as City to decrease the CRIME.

MOVE A MOTION: I will move a motion in the City Council to control the CRIME for the safety, security, development, peace and prosperity of our beloved City, Mississauga.

5. PUBLIC PARKS

MODERN PARKS – with the latest facilities.
- IDEA – I will consult the public of that area; May be street Voting will be the option – I will take a start from one park and make it a MODEL PARK.
- Special attention will be given to youth to keep them busy – Play grounds and other youth facilities will be provided.
SAFETY AND MAINTENANCE OF PARKS – especially, the children play places, community centres and walking tracks.
“Because these are the great Meeting Places as well as Socializing Spots for kids, ladies, senior citizen, adults and youth”. Safety and Security will be my priority.
I will hold the Town Hall Meetings regularly and also arrange the Public Seminars to convince the Public regarding my Five Point Election Agenda known as “MY 5”. I will also welcome the Public Suggestions, Opinion and Ideas to make my points more practical and acceptable by everyone. Public involvement will be appreciated.

KNOCKING AT DOORS AND CANVASSING:

FIRST ROUND OF CANVASSING: I have the honour to go to each Door in WARD 9 for Canvassing during my Campaign Trail which started on May 02, 2022.
Completion Date for FIRST ROUND OF CANVASSIND AND KNOCKING – September 15, 2022.
I did door Knocking and Canvassing mostly along with my family members, especially with my wife, Shazia Noreen, My Sons Jamal Shabbeer Jamal and Kamal Shabbeer Kamal. My close Friends and Volunteers MOHTRUM Afzal Ch, Aziz Ch, Ramzan Khan, Younas Ch, Syed Tassawer, Mohammad Asim Sehi, Abdullah Sehi, Zahoor Bhutta, Syed Qaswar Abbas and Bill McBain, also helped me during my Campaign Trail for knocking and Canvassing.

MY COUNCILLOR OFFICE!

I would like to hold Town Hall Meetings very regularly to hear issues, complaints and suggestions.
I will also try to give the feedback on the previously raised issues, complaints and suggestions to the respectable voters of Ward 9 at the very next meeting.
I will introduce a very respectable atmosphere for the voters in the Councillor Office.
Complainant will be contacted and the efforts will be brought up to the attention of the complainant.
I would like to introduce the timeline system to answer the complaints of each voter.
Availability and completion of “MY 5” will be my top priority.
I would like to make a general body from Ward 9, consisting of about 25 individuals from the different communities (1 to 3 members from each community). We will discuss the different ISSUES and their solutions, as on required basis. This body will be like a bouquet of flower but from different communities which will work for Ward 9 Mississauga. I am positive that it will produce the best results.
I would also like to create a Thinktank of about 50 individuals from different professions and cultures to discuss different problems at the city level to give our positive feedback to the city council as well as to help the Mayor of City of Mississauga on different issues.
AVAILIBILITY: I will be available at the Meadowvale Community Centre for about two to three hours on FIRST and FIFTEENTH of each month.

ELECTION MANIFESTO

I am Mohammad Shabbeer, Candidate for Councilor, Ward 9 Mississauga.
I am a proud resident of Meadowvale, Mississauga Ward 9. ❤️❤️‍
I am easily approachable and available to hear your point of view.
I would like to discuss and solve the issues like Tax Hike, Snow Removal, Grass Cutting, Garbage Collection, Improvement of children’s play places, maintenance of footpaths, cleanliness of parks, maintenance of streetlight and Fight against Street crimes.
The maintenance of footpaths was very poor during the winter, especially in Meadowvale, Mississauga. It was icy and some places, water was standing on the footpaths, making hard for the pedestrians to negotiate (Personal Experience). I will take personal interest to resolve such issues.
I will be more interested to hear the individual residents talking to me. Thanks to Juan, sister Eaten, Olawale, Miss Dorola, Xing Fan and many others talking to me, regarding their common problems as well as individual problems, of their streets and area. I believe that the residents of different streets have more knowledge of their area than anyone else.
I love❤️ multiculturalism and diversity for the Development, Progress and Prosperity our beloved country Canada.
I am in favour of “in person” classes rather than on line classes.
I am advocating for affordable housing for lower income families and also want to work on the issues of senior’s health care.
Together we can make Mississauga, better than before.

I would like to set personal example.
PERSONAL EXAMPLE – I will try my best to use the Bicycle as well as Tricycle during MY ELECTION CAMPAIGN FOR COUNCILLOR.
I would like to send the following messages to the public.
1. WALK or BIKE – Reduce the pollution, thus improve the environment.
2. Walk or Bike – Minimize the use of gas and save money
3. Walk or Bike – Improve your physical fitness, which will improve your quality of life.
4. Walk or Bike – Change your habits and try to avoid the use of Vehicles unnecessarily, especially for short distances.

MY VISION – REGARDING CASTING OF VOTE

Vote for all the three Tiers of the Government (Federal, Provincial and Municipal).
It is very necessary for each voter to understand the Importance of the THREE TIERS OF THE GOVERNMENT.
Municipal Elections are the NON PARTY Elections, which needs our special intention because it deals with our day to day problems. The Voting turnout ratio in Municipal Election is the minimum, which we have to increase for the best interest of our beloved county, Canada.
Vote is our Nation Responsibility, therefore we must cast our vote.
Vote for the Peace, Development and Prosperity of your beloved country.
Everyone must understand the Importance, Value and Power the Vote so that we can make efforts to increase the voting percentage for all the THREE TIERS OF THE GOVERNMENT.
Your Vote is your voice. Cast your Vote so that your voice can be heard.

THREE TIERS OF THE GOVERNMENT

Let’s Discuss the Three Tiers of the Government in Ontario, Canada🍁
a. Federal – Party 👍
b. Provincial – Party 👍
c. Municipal- Non Party 🎈
Everyone must vote for all the TIERS OF THE GOVERNMENT, especially the MUNICIPAL.
All the Tiers of the Government are very important but Municipal Government is the most important Government.
Ask me why?
Because the Municipal Government deals with our day to day problems like Property Taxes, Garbage collection, Snow removal, Maintenance of footpaths, Maintaining the parks, Maintaining the walking trails, Maintenance of children play places, Community Centers and many more.
Federal and Provincial Elections are Party Based Elections but the Municipal Elections are NON PARTY ELECTIONS.
Non Party Elections means that the Political Parties are not allowed to take part in the Municipal Elections.

MY ACHIEVEMENTS!

PUBLIC AWARENESS CAMPAIGN: Ran a Public awareness campaign that “everyone must vote because each vote counts”, from 2015 till April 30, 2022.
WALK: Did an AWARENESS WALK from Mississauga to Oshawa (Route! Downtown Mississauga, Downtown Toronto, Scarborough, Pickering, Ajax, Whitby and Oshawa) to convince the public and create awareness regarding, “Everyone Must Vote”. Duration of the walk was 10 days from May 01 to May 10, 2018.
INSPECTION: I moved an APPLICATION to change the location of the inspection of Limos and Taxis, from Mississauga to the Pearson International Airport. I was asked by the city of Mississauga to give presentation to the Public Vehicle Advisory Committee (PVAC) at the city hall which was countered by the Taxi and Limo Commission.
SUCCESS: Now a days the inspection of Limo and Taxis is again done in the compound at the airport.
MEMBER OF THE UNION: I served as a Member of the Union (Local 252) at the Pearson International Airport.

I BELIEVE THAT WE ACHIEVED THE FOLLOW BENEFITS!
- MONETARY BENEFITS OF ABOUT $100 FOR EACH DRIVER (FUEL + TIME + HAZARD + MAINTENANCE COST).
- DECREASING THE POLUTION AND THUS SAVING THE ENVIRONMENT.
- SAVING OF TRAVEL TIME FOR EACH DRIVER FROM AIRPORT TO THE INSPECTION STATION AND BACK.
- SAVING ON FUEL AND THUS PLAYING AN IMPORTANT ROLE TO SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT AS WELL AS HUMANITY.
- DECREASING THE HAZARDS – BY DECREASING THE TRAVEL TIME OF TEXIS AND LIMOS ON THE ROAD, THUS DECREASING THE HAZARDS ON THE ROAD.

MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT!

The municipal government of the city is responsible for managing parks, Property Taxes, walking tracks, libraries, community centers, local transportation, property taxes, fire services, and city road maintenance among other services.

MAIN ISSUES AND PROBLEMS!

PROPERTY TAX: Hike in property taxes is disturbing the public of Mississauga at large. I will take up this issue and try my best to reduce or cap the property taxes. My efforts will be crystal clear and fruitful for the public. I will stand against efforts to increase Property Taxes.
SNOW REMOVAL: Public have the concern about the timely removal of the snow from streets of Mississauga which needs special intention. I do have the experience, I do recognize the issue and like to address the Public concerns.
GARBAGE COLLECTION: There is a lot of room for improvement in garbage collection. I will try my level best to improve the efficiency by increasing the number of days or decreasing the collection area for each truck.
PARKS & RECREATION: I would love to improve the parks because the parks are best places for the entertainment and meeting points for the public. I would like to keep the parks clear of any safety hazards, especially the children play places needs special intention.
CRIME PREVENTION: This should be done on priority but presently a lot of cases of different kinds of car theft and house breaking have been occurring in the City of Mississauga. I will focus on the ISSUE OF STREET CRIME and try to make a plan to control the CRIME with the help of the other Councillors, Police and Private Security. I would also like educate and then involve volunteers to control the Street Crimes.
MAINTENANCE OF ROADS: City roads needs a lot of maintenance and improvement. I would like to concentrate on the availability of best maintenance possible, especially for Ward 9.
After construction or after maintenance of different sites (Public Complain): Proper cleaning of the site is required, which is lacking. I will try to give proper attention on such issue of the public importance.
BRIDGING COMMUNITIES: Integration of different communities by holding a seminars and community gathering. I will arrange the lectures of the learned, moderate and civilized scholars from the different works of life. I would like to create a society with patience, love and respect for each other, which is better for the development, progress and prosperity of our beloved country Canada in particular and specific for the City of Mississauga.

PROVINCIAL SUBJECTS – My point of view

SCHOOL EDUCATION: I believe that School is the basic institutions where the kids get all types of education. It doesn’t give only education to the kid but also provide the opportunity to learn the civilization, cooperation, friendship, behavior and all the other qualities of a good citizen. But due to the shortage of staff especially the teachers, parents have been feeling the effects already. Now the COVID has proved that loneliness have worst effects. Therefore the online learning failed and learning in school (physical school classes) is the best. More focus of government is required to improve the education as well as need to improve our education system by bringing more teachers, increasing school activities and minimizing the E learning hours.
HOUSING: Increase of rents in the city of Mississauga is a point of interest. I would like to study this issue in detail and try to find out the best possible solution. One of the solution is to have more affordable houses with the help of the Province as well as the City. Required a detailed study on this issue.
MENTAL HEALTH: Health issues in Mississauga in general and in Ward 9, in particular, due to COVID (loss of income, crimes, rent increase, transportation) need to be addressed immediately. I would like to focus on MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES and try to solve the issues with the help of the public, city as well as province whatever role each one of them can play.

IMPORTANT SUBJECT – My point of view

IMPORTANCE OF VOTE: It is very important to understand the importance, value and power of Vote for the Development, Peace and Prosperity of our beloved Country, Canada. We need to improve the percentage voting for all the Tiers of the government especially the Municipal Government. Average percentage voting for the Municipal Government is 28 to 38 percent, which is too low and unacceptable, needs special attention of the public.
THREE TIERS OF THE GOVERNMENT! I will like to educate the public regarding the responsibilities of each Tiers of Government (Federal, Provincial and Municipal).
TRAFFIC TICKETS: I would like the police to have more frequent speed checks. But I would not like the police to issue TICKETS unnecessarily to innocent drivers at the SPEED TRAP to show their efficiency and spoiling the driving record of the individuals. There are unnecessary monetary losses to the public as well as it also results in an increase in their insurance.

FUTURE PLANS

I will be easily approachable as well as available to discuss and hear your point of view.
I Will make efforts to bring in more Revenue for Ward 9.
Love to work on the Integration of different communities.
Love to bring peace, confidence, respect and harmony in the society.
Put in my best efforts to keep nice relationship with Mayor as well as other Councillors.
Keep a strong contact with the public through PUBLIC MEETINGS and other means.
Love to work on Better Environment, decrease Systemic Racism, increase Voting Percentage, and work on Mental Health issues in the society .
